    Just received an email from them accusing me of damaging the car. The damage in question was highlighted to them when I picked the car up.

    Everything started in Malaga airport around 4.30pm when we arrived to the Sixt office everyone welcomed us kindly they asked if we return a car or take a car etc etc.

    After about 5 days and some amazing time spent around Spain and Morocco we finally arrived in the Sixt office in Marbella where we left the car and was all good i received my deposit back after a few hours which was pretty great and i thought that was it but no, i checked my account after a few days and i noticed that they took the full payment out of my account and doing so i paid something like 25€ of international fees and this was a little disappointing.

    So i was again in the Sixt car rental office in Marbella and there i explain again my situation and here is what they said:” Even if the Car its pre paid on line the full amount will be charged on the card which was given to pay the deposit and get the car and the pre payment will be refund on the card which the booking was made from.” OH MY GOD!!! That’s exactly what i asked to the Malaga office and they said something completely different.

    The Sixt employee, who inspected the car when I brought it back, lied to me when she took pictures of the damage and said that she was "just referencing it". Thankfully I have documented evidence of it all when I picked it up.

    Decided to call the office where they tried to explain something to me but it wasn't very clear what i got was that i was suppose to wait a few days and that id get my money back which i did, but on the 4th day of wait i decided to just go and talk in person.

    Great hassle free experience, did not have car in prebooked class, so gave us one in the class above for no extra charge. Rental was simple and smooth, will definitely rent again

    When we booked and pre-paid our car we specified we wanted a mini cooper cabrio which apparently was impossible to get, but ok we got a vw beetle which was pretty good anyway.

    Very good service, good prices and the best: They don't try to charge random extras at the end of the contract as some other car rental companies do. They even called us halfway through the rental period to let us know that they can offer a cheaper rate for the remaining days.

    End of the story, They win! I lost 25€ and few hours of my life and thats why i decided to share all this with you people so that i can inform you on this company policy to train their staff and inform the costumer.

    I got this email where they was apologising and the email said that for the inconvenience they would give me a 50€ voucher to use within a year in any of their offices.

    Now start the issue. My friend pre paid this car on line but at the moment of taking the insurance deposit from her card there was some issue ( an issue that didn't happen when we rent another car from the same company in Morocco ) so what i mean the problem wasn't her card but was an issue from the office i guess. I said ok you can take the deposit from my card i said and before i gave them the card i made sure i asked a question: “will i be charge on this card? or its money that will be frozen on my account?”( as its an English card i didn't want to pay the 3% commission on international payments ) anyway their answer was “NO!! you will not be charged as soon you return the car after a few days the money will be again available on your account” so i said ok go on take this card. ( from 4.30 we left the office with the car at 7pm ish so we lost 2 and half hours of our lives and of our holiday because of all this).

    Anyway after over an our of talking and arguing with the guy in the office and some guy they made me talk to on the phone i left the office and they said they would open a complaint file and that id get an email in the next few days.

    Now lets all stop for a minute and think. We are talking about a multi millionaire company with shops everywhere in the world. Because of their useless untrained staff i paid 25€ of my own money on commission that could have been easily avoided and what they offer me its a 50€ voucher ( 50€ that become 25€ as you should detract the 25€ of commission i paid ) and its not only that they even thought i would be super happy and forget about everything maybe and buy me with a 25€ voucher when how much would cost me a car for a few days? maybe 300€? So i think its like taking the piss, they still want to make money from me making me think to have a great deal but the deal its for them because on 300€ car take off 50€ they still made 250€ on me!! well forget it.

    There is plenty more and even cheaper companies i think, honestly this Sixt rent a car its been pretty bad for me.
